Desmond Tutu Health Foundation
The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is committed to the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa. DTHF was founded in 2004, by Professor Robin Wood and Professor Linda-Gail Bekker. Professor Linda-Gail Bekker is the Principal Investigator of the IAVI Fellowship Programme and the Deputy Director of the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre. She is also the Chief Operating Officer at the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation and a Professor in Medicine at UCT Faculty of Health Sciences. Professor Robin Wood is the Director of the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre and the CEO of the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation. He is also a Professor of Medicine at UCT Faculty of Health Sciences.
The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation is located in the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre, at the University of Cape Town, in the Health Science Faculty. It is a not-for-profit organization supported by the Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and his wife, Leah Tutu.
